it is an incessant effort
especially when scores
toil so hard
at thinning
the facility of those trying
with
smoke and mirrors
straight-faced diversions!
not desiring us to discern
ourselves clearly…
nor do they desire us
peering through them!
we must stay genuine
but how?
when even we
deceive ourselves
